    Diagnosed

    Oh No

My husband went to the ER with the thoughts that he either had a bad stomach bug or possibly gallbladder/appendix issues. Instead, he ended up getting a diagnosis of colon cancer, stage 4. We couldn't believe it! He had no symptoms up until a couple of weeks before diagnosis. The cancer has already spread to liver and lymph nodes. I feel like i am in a bad dream and need to wake up!

    Colon surgery (colectomy or hemicolectomy)

    Procedure or Surgery

Surgery went ok in the beginning but my husband ended up with an infection at the incision site. The incision was opened up and infection drained. It has now been 2 weeks and the incision is still healing and doing well. Wound vac will be put on this week in order to help heal for chemo to start.
