    Neulasta

    Clinical Trial

Even making the chemo side effects stronger and causing joint and muscle pain, Neulasta hold my immunity pretty well. My hemoglobin never dropped under 11.500!!!!!

    Chemo brain

    Side Effects

Ah , what? What did you say? Actually, during treatment I couldn't go anywhere by myself because sometimes I didn't know where I was!! My memory used to be fantastic! But that it: used to be! Unfortunately, even getting better after treatment, I still have issues. I can't multitask anymore. I can only keep three "things to do" in my memory. The fourth one has to wait until one of the three previous are done. No, really, I had to became way more organized because my memory sucks! I totally delete some parts of movies, facts, etc.

    Double Mastectomy

    Decision Point

I had 3 tumors in my left breast. They called it 'satellites'. I used to work in clinical laboratories so cancer wasn't unknown for me. Just to think about the high possibility of having it again, made me ask for the double mastectomy. :-) POT LUCK! After my first chemo i was tested for BRCA 1 & 2. I'm BRCA2 positive. That was one of the most intelligentsia decisions I took in my life!

    Work problems

    Oh No

I used to work in a clinical lab too far away from home. My doctor didn't want me dealing with bacteria sand sick patients. Also, I was so fatigued that I couldn't do the driving plus my 12 hrs shift!

    Health insurance issue

    Oh No

Not enough PTO and later getting terminated we had to change insurances to my husband's work one. It was stressful and expansive. But it did work in the end!

    Relationship issues

    Oh No

After had been logistically a good husband during treatment, he didn't want or knew how to deal with anything related with the words cancer, surgeries or recovery anymore. Nor the menopause I was forced to go through. He expected life would go back the way it used to be. But after cancer I was not (am not) the same person. The divorce was eminent.
