    Wedding and Honeymoon

    Celebration

We went ahead with the wedding and honeymoon as planned although the honeymoon was slightly strained for me because I had so many worries in my head as to what would happen when we got back.

    Chemotherapy

    Drug or Chemo Therapy

I had 4 rounds of Adriamycin/Cytoxan, the last two of which really kicked my butt. I think had 12 weekly rounds of Taxol which was easier to tolerate. I never threw up but I would get terribly tired, had some neuropathy, had "chemopause" symptoms, and basically was just worn out.

    Easy to Do: Agree
    Minimal Side Effects: Neutral/NA
Minimal Impact to Daily Life: Disagree

    Decision Point

Once chemo was done I needed to have surgery. I went into the decision thinking I would get a lumpectomy with radiation. I came out of it having decided on a bilateral mastectomy. And it was a hard, hard road of soul-searching before I got to the decision I did.

    Double Mastectomy

    Procedure or Surgery

It hurt a heck of a lot more than I expected and I didn't realize how limited my range of motion would be. I also can't sleep on either side of my body and have been living out of a recliner.

    Went as Expected: Disagree
    Minimal Recovery: Disagree
