Roadking310's Journey with Brain and Spinal Cord Tumors in Adults

Dr. was great at surgical skills of taking out a golf ball size tumor with a syrinx the length of my back. Did not prepare me for the rehab and emergency surgery after I was paralyzed from a blood clot in my spinal cord. First surgery 4/30/07 13 hours. Emergency surgery on 5/1/07 10 hours!! Had to go to Kessler Rehab to learn how to walk again. Was there 9 days of intense therapy but was able to walk out with a cane!! Chronic neuropathy now due to the cutting into my spinal cord and filleting it to remove the tumor.

Left me with chronic pain from chest down to feet. Depression medicine, erectile dysfunction for a long time. Now I have decreased sex drive, low testosterone and a wife who is afraid to make love to me for the last 7 years. Forced to give up a great six figure job I enjoyed because I can't drive to work on Morphine and the other 23 pills a day I take. Now on Social Security Disability and getting a divorce soon. My wife and son don't want to deal with my depression and illness any longer. So after 16 years of marriage just was told by my wife that she had an affair with her boss for last 3 years. She wants a divorce eventually.

Have been tumor free for 7 years with no other cancer showing up.

Lost my relationship with my wife. Lost my enjoyment of a pain free day.

3x a week rehab. Cardio fitness. 20 min on treadmill 3.4 mph incline 4, recumbent elliptical machine 15 min., 10 min on hand/arm machine 5 min forward/5 min reverse
