    Diagnosed

    Oh No

Two weeks after the surgery, the pathology results diagnosed a Squamous cell metastatic carcinoma. I took it easily, asked the surgeon what do I had to do and that same day visited the oncologist.

    Chemotherapy

    Drug or Chemo Therapy

I went to six chemos, one weekly. On the first one, another node I had did dissappear. The nurse asked how did I feel after the first chemo and when I told her I had a little pain in my neck, she told me: "It's the medication that is working, we are on the right path".

    Easy to Do: Strongly Agree
    Minimal Side Effects: Strongly Agree
Minimal Impact to Daily Life: Strongly Agree

    External radiation

    Radiation

Because I was diagnosed with nasopharynx cancer, I had to take 33 radiation doses in 6 1/2 weeks. It literally destroyed my tongue, impossibiliting me to swallow. I lost 22 pounds in the process.

    Painless Experience: Strongly Agree
    Minimal Side Effects: Strongly Disagree
Minimal Impact to Daily Life: Strongly Disagree

    Mouth sores

    Side Effects

Mouth sores was the highest impact side effect I had. Although I had diarrhea, mouth dryness, hair loss, the sores was the toughest, because I could not eat solids or talk.

    Finished treatment

    Celebration

I finished treatment about one month ago (March 15). On April 9 I went to the ENT to a routine check and found no present tumor or neck nodes. Right now I'm back to work. In 3 months I'll go with a PET CT Scan to check if the treatment has worked successfully. In the name of God, it will!!
