Oh No
Unfortunately one of my aunts was recently diagnosed with stage IV Gastric Adenocarcinoma stomach cancer. She is only 43 years old and has two young daughters. Since she does not have medical insurance and has limited financial resources, I feel that she was not given all of the medical treatment that she needs. Sh wasn't given any cancer treatment options. They practically gave up on her for lack of financial resources. Last Thursday she was released from the hospital, where she was diagnosed. She was placed on the VITAS program which is an end-of-life service company. The company only provided her a bed, a device to apply dosages of morphine, and a nurse who will only assist her twice a week. She has not eaten in days and now that she's at home, she's not even on any sort of IV fluids. Her condition is worsening every day that goes by. I was wondering if there are any foundations that I can contact which could further assist her for cancer treatment. She is very young and it would be very devastating to lose her without doing everything possible to fight her cancer. Any information will be greatly appreciated!
