Diagnosed
Oh No
I had rectal bleeding which could be explained by hemarrhoids but we decided to do a colonoscopy as a precaution. They found a mass right where the rectum and colon meet which was oozing blood. Proctologist said it is cancer but is highly curable. I am still trying to wrap my heart and mind around what has happened. I have a life-long struggle with anxiety and have been going through a very effective therapy (EMDR - Eye Movement Desensitizing and Reprogramming). For the first time in my life I felt like I had the anxiety under control and was looking forward to the future - including starting a support group for people with anxiety and depression. Then this happened. I am really worried about my wife, who has had a life of even greater trauma than me. We are reaching out to family, friends, church, and looking for support groups.
