    Milestones

Good Morning everyone, My wife was declared to be in remission from her stage lllC primary peritoneal carcinoma. We know it could come back....the port is staying in and we will start living in 90 day increments for a while. Dense dose chemo with carbo and taxol (neo adjuvant) sandwiched around a debulking and Hysterectomy. A difficult and challenging 8 month journey. Friends were talking about our big "celebration" not knowing we just got a great reason not to drink ourselves to sleep. What's Next ? take a deep breath, smile more often knowing Cancer will not kill us today, this month, or this year.

    Remission

    Celebration

So first major screening 90 days after treatment complete. Blood work and CT Scan last week and waiting for the consult the 8 th of September. Friday night at 9:00 the phone rings from the Hospital and we are too terrified to pick it up. Playing the message found us on the receiving end of positive news. The tone of the Doctors voice and inflection on the words told us a lot. A doctor reviewing test results late on a Friday and finding a little miracle.....and being excited to make the call. This is not the end of our cancer experience....but it will not take my wife today, this month, or this year.
