Pneumomediastinum
Oh No
I had air pockets in my chest. This is when my doctors found a node on my thyroid during tests.
Cancer
Oh No
I found out that I had early stage 1 papillary carcinoma.
Surgery
Procedure or Surgery
My doctor was only planning on removing the left side of my thyroid, but during surgery realized that my entire thyroid had cancer. So I ended up having a thyroidectomy.
Internal radiation
Radiation
I had radioactive iodine. It was painless, just a pill you swallow. The only downside is that you have to be in isolation for 3 days.
Finished treatment
Celebration
Cancer is gone!
Synthroid
Side Effects
Synthroid was absolutely horrible. I was always nauseous, and having vertigo. I could barely get in and out of my bed. I have had so many sid effects I can't remember most of them. I've gained over 60 lbs. and have had problems with depression.
Armour
Side Effects
I love armour thyroid! It was a night and day difference! I still have some side effects but they're minimal compared to synthroid. I didn't lose any weight and I still have problems with depression, but other than that I feel completely normal again.
