    Diagnosed

    Oh No

Even after my Dr. told me the mass was a malignant tumor I was clueless. I knew there was benign and there was malignant, one was good and one was bad but could never remember which one was which. In my head he said “Ductal Carcinoma” not “Cancer” and at 41 I was too young to have Breast Cancer anyway. The next thing I heard was “Science has come a long way and I don’t want you to think that cancer is a death sentence.” ...cleared up the whole which one is bad debate.

    Chemotherapy

    Drug or Chemo Therapy

My nurses asked if I researched the type of chemo I was getting at all and I said I did. At this time my hair was past my waist and was what I considered my personality and my one defining feature. A side effect….not a possible one, a guaranteed one was to wake up and find clumps of hair on your pillow. GREAT, I had 2 things I actually liked about my appearance and it was boobs and hair. Both which ended up being casualties of this war

AC chemo is what I referred to as the red devil. The side-effects were hair loss, nasia vomiting, mouth sores & painful IV site. The only positive side-effect wise I finally went down into a single # size jeans.

    Chemo brain

    Side Effects

The first time I Heard "Chemo Brain". It was on a t-shirt & honestly I was offended. Not long after that I put it all together and realised what it meant. My short term memory with heavily affected.
