Due to have my left kidney removed Oct. 1st

    Procedure or Surgery

I am for the first time in my life genuinely afraid. Not only of losing a kidney, not only of the cancer , but of my whole world changing and the stress my family is under. I am 1400 miles away from my family, and have very little support of any kind from them. Except from my 25 year old son, trying to stay financially on his feet in this economy and crisscross flying from Florida ( where I lived 40 years prior to this diagnosis) to Wisconsin, where I now live in HUD housing. I would love to transfer my care to Florida ( Moffit Cancer Center) as we are from Tampa originally. I am just afraid and overwhelmed , like being on top of a rollercoaster (while being scared of heights) , not knowing where the twists and turns will be and when and how it will end.
