    Implant chemotherapy port

    Procedure or Surgery

Getting the port was one of the best decisions I made. Treatments became much less invasive and easier, and obviously less painful. The day to day life with a port in my chest was hard to get used it and occasionally was uncomfortable, but eventually I didn't even notice it. I would suggest to anyone contemplating port or no port to go port.

    External radiation

    Radiation

In comparison to chemo, radiation is a cake walk. It is so simple and easy. The daily trips into the hospital were time consuming, it took wayyyyyyyyyy longer to get in and ready than the 2 minutes of radiation. My radiation field included my neck and I did have side effects from that. I had a hard time swallowing and a sore throat for awhile. They had me drink something, I don't remember what it's called, but it tastes like black licorice. Pretty gross but works wonders!
