Diagnosed
Oh No
Went to my holistic doctor because I was just feeling "off". He did a ton of blood work and that's when it showed up. Then he handed me over to the western doctors. Lots of tests all confirming a large mass in liver. Hometown oncologist said it was beyond his abilities. Then I went to Memorial Sloan Kettering. They diagnosed Cholangiocarcinoma, inoperable, Stage 4. Because of my deep seated belief that everything happens for a reason, I never asked "why me?" Cancer sucks and I hate it; but it's my life journey.
Implant chemotherapy port
Procedure or Surgery
the implant went without a hitch. I spent 6 days in the hospital and 3 months recovering from the surgery. But the cancer has matastized and now I am getting system chemo as well as the pump.
Chemotherapy
Drug or Chemo Therapy
So far so good. No side effects when only on the pump and very mild side effect with the systemic.

Body part/function
Loss
I was just starting to get back into shape from a previous injury. I don't feel I am ready to go back to the gym or do much in the way of exercising. I hate having lost my waistline because of pump and swollen liver.

Cancer has spread/Metastasized
Oh No
My latest scan shows that I have developed three new tumors. They look like little hens clustered around the mother tumore. Sigh!!!! I have a Hepatic Artery Infusion Pump that we haven't been using while things were stable. We're pulling out the big guns nows. I know liver cancer never really goes away I was just hopping that one big "stable" tunmor would all I would have to deal with. I've been blessed, but I think this is a heads up to start getting ready for the end. And exactly where is it that you begin
Side Effects
I was on both the chemo pump and systemic at the same time. There came a week when I just bent over with the pain. No one could find the cause. Wasn't even sure it was cancer related. My entire diaphram was bloated and I was bent over literally. It's been two week. Treated it with Celebrex of all things.
short term bile drainage stent
Procedure or Surgery
I feel this is just the beginning of a long process. It's not an uncommon surgery with this type of cancer, but it's not a sure thing either. Usually takes multiply attempts to get the stent placed totally internally
