    Lobectomy

    Procedure or Surgery

2-3 day stay turned into 5 day stay.Small leak in lung...had to put in drain with little bottle attached that collected lung fluid. I had to use a syringe to draw it out and keep daily number of cc's drained.

    Oh No

Went to ER due to back pain.Given a CAT scan with contrast. Pain meds given. Dr said fracture of Back- L1..lumbar... went home...thought abt it a little more clear headed. My pain was not in lumbar it was in thoracic..midback. I decided to call doctor back...I did and told him again where my pain was. He was not happy I was questioning him. he assured me the CAT scan covered all areas and that I was fine. He said I will check that area for you again....then...gee..I apologize, you need to come back to hospital, you have a clot in your lung. Found otbers in leg. Was in hospital 2 days..now on lovenox and coumadin until level of coumadin stabilizes.Because of cancer history, I will be on blood thinner rest of my life. This is scarey to me.

    2nd Biopsy

    Procedure or Surgery

Down thru the throat, very difficult to reach, needles dont bend. These lymph nodes were kind of in an arch and difficult to reach. Great pulmonologist ordered a special needle and was able to access one with success.

    Chemotherapy and radiation combined

    Drug or Chemo Therapy

Chemo once a week for 6 weeks, radiation 5 days aweek for 6 weeks. Have lost weight, cannot get food down with out it being very uncomfortable. The docs have given me a swallow but has not helped. Shakey & weak feeling.if i could eat this journey would be easier i believe.
