    Drug or Chemo Therapy

What can I say, chemo sucked. My hair is taking it's good ole time growing back. I have chemo curls and I hate it.

    Remission

    Celebration

My cancerversary was two weeks ago. One year out and more to go. Keeping my fingers crossed and a smile on my face.

    Remission

    Celebration

I didn't come on this site much when I was going through treatment a year and two months ago. I found a support group on Facebook that really helped me when I couldn't or wouldn't turn to family, friends or my husband. I'm officially in remission and my next check up is in a few days. I've had a few set backs though. I ended up quitting my job a few months after chemo ended. I just couldn't keep up with the physically demanding environment. They thought since I was finished with chemo that I'd be able to just pick up where I left off. I could tell my managers were getting frustrated with me. They all knew of my medical "problems", it didn't feel like they cared or wanted to understand. So, I quit. I still have days where I don't want to get out of bed. Mostly I've been trying to get back to what feels right. Recurrence is always returning to my thoughts. I'm at higher risk because of the type of cancer I had and I have the brca1 gene mutation. My gynecologist wants to take my ovaries out soon but I want them to do the ultrasound to see if there's any abnormalities. If not I want to wait on that surgery. I'm 37 and I'm not ready for the onset of menopause just yet.
