I have had chemo twice, 6-3 week cycles of Carboplatin and Taxol in 2015 and 6-3 week cycles of Carboplatin and Gemzar in 2018. Long term neuropathy in my left foot since 2015. In 2015, lost all my hair ( including eyelashes, eye brows, hair on my head and body hair), had diarrhea, skin sores, one episode of passing out, severe anemia requiring 4 blood transfusions. In 2018 severe fatigue, Gemzar fever and chills twice, severe acid reflux, severe fatigue and severe anemia requiring 5 transfusions.

    Debulking surgery

    Procedure or Surgery

I have an abdominal hernia due to surgury. I returned to the ED 24 hours after discharge post-op with fluid overload and a large pleural effusion on the right which required a thoracentesis.

    Cancer is back/Recurred

    Oh No

Reoccurence January 2018, (2 years NED). Caught 2 enlarged lymph nodes on my routine annual CT scan (paraaortic and subdiaphragmatic), no symptoms, no rise in my CA-125 (stayed around 4). Confirmed by PET scan. (CA-125 remained below 10 during treatment, it was over 600 on initial diagnosis in 2015)

    Chemotherapy

    Drug or Chemo Therapy

2nd reoccurrence, chemo began May 2019. 2 pulmonary nodules on the left and an area on my left diaphragm caught on routine CT scan and confirmed by PET scan. ( Unable to perform CT guided biopsy due to location of nodules). No symptoms from the cancer. Avastin, Doxil and Carboplatin this time. Fatigue challenging to deal with. I have no preexisting lung disease, I never have smoked. This is very frustrating and scary. I continue though at turtle pace. Remember who won the race between the tortoise and the hare, right?
