    Cancer has spread/Metastasized

    Oh No

I had my first appt at the Cancer Center in Asheville. According to the CT report, multiple large hepatic abnormalities up to 8 cmm in diameter were found in the right lobe of my liver. They are scheduling a liver biopsy next week and a PET scan. No other organs involved from what was seen on the CT scan but who knows with a PET scan. I am so confused on what I should do. I met with the oncologist but I'll be honest..I felt like a cow being herded thru a chute thru the whole process. I also watched my husband go completely down hill with liver failure as well as gall bladder after chemo. He suffered so much with side effects. I honestly don't know if I want to put myself in that boat. It almost makes more sense to roll the dice with surgery for my colon tumor and let nature take it's course while enjoying what quality time I could have. If I have the resection, I will not escape with effects to my bowel and if I add chemo on top of that, I don't want to even think of what I could be dealing with. Anyone have any words of wisdom who may have been in the same boat? I am thinking of making an appt with MD Anderson in Texas after my meeting with the surgeon next Friday. My PET scan is scheduled for Monday. Hugs and God bless to all of you.

    Implant chemotherapy port

    Procedure or Surgery

I just had my power port put in this morning. The numbing medication has not worn off yet, but the procedure went quickly. It is such a surreal experience for me after being her on this site documenting my husband's journey. I have learned so much here but most most of all, the precious gift of hope and understanding is given by so many. Thankful to have found you...Embracing everyone here and sending as much love and light possible!!

    Drug or Chemo Therapy

I have been lucky and have not had major side effects from Folfox with Avastin other than the cold sensitivity in my hands and some funny grip sensations which get better after a few days...
