    Just Diagnosed

    Oh No

I had a rainout from work one Thursday, the least little chore would leave me breathless so I went to the emergency room, told them what was happening, they kept me and run tests, put me on breathing treatment, oxygen etc.,they even done a brain scan, fast forward,I had cancer, they sent me to an oncologists for more tests,he told me I had stage 4 lung cancer,it had spread to both lungs, there was a spot on my brain also but it wasn't big enough to evaluate, fast forward again ,I was prescribed keytruda,I have had two infusions and another scan on my skull since then. Time period: Nov.1 2018 to Jan.19 2019 I also have late stage copd

    Allergic reaction

    Side Effects

My clinic sends me tests results via email, blood tests, pet scans, etc. (which I don't understand any of it) but one thing caught my eye was on a pet scan report,up at top by itself,it said pnuemonitis from Keytruda.

    Internal radiation

    Radiation

Fatigue..it feels like I have worked a 5-day 60 hr.shift with 4-6 hrs.sleep between shifts. That's all I want to do after 8 days of treatment is sleep, 2 more to go,then some kind of new chemo infusion.

    Pain

    Side Effects

I experienced a new kind of pain a few days ago,in my lower back,I was sitting up taking a break from taking a nap ( sounds ridiculous) but all of a sudden it felt like my I pulled a muscle,I couldn't straighten up and have to walk bent over now.I fortunately had a scheduled appointment with the oncologist yesterday,3-5-19,and told him..he cancelled yet another infusion, didn't say why, wth,or much anything else,I waited 3 weeks to see him and he gives me 3 min. of his time,I had a whole page of questions, mainly about the new treatment, but he rescheduled me for two weeks from now.The pain I was feeling before,in my upper spine and left shoulder and arm, felt like a combination of a pinched nerve and bursitis.I am to have a screening done Monday by my radiologists for my lower back and possibly 10 more rounds of treatment for my back.I guess I just needed to vent,I've never been through this crap before and not knowing bugs me.

    External radiation

    Radiation

I just had a follow-up pet scan on my first radiation treatment,it was performed on my brain,it was diagnosed as being stable..it hasn't grown nor has it shrunk.I don't know where to put this,so I'll tack it on here,I have an appointment for a second opinion as to do chemo or hospice, coming up Thursday. That course of action came from a fellow whatnexter,DanielD,who suggested it and found the facility in my state, thanks again :)
