    Just Diagnosed

    Oh No

My upstairs washer had flooded my home Christmas Eve morning. We were putting our home on the market to downsize. My husband had just been diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease. Now me?

    Sentinel lymph node biopsy

    Procedure or Surgery

The night before my lumpectomy, I had a “road mapping” of my nodes ordered by my surgeon. The procedure hurt as I had an allergy issue, so I elected to proceed with no anesthesia. Hurt like XXX!

    Reconstructive surgery, both breasts.

    Procedure or Surgery

My anesthesia tube in right breast malfunctioned - nurse would not call my doctor. I suffered all night in pain with the wrong bra, under medicated & no sleep. My doctor came in the morning & asked, what happened? Her PA was covering for her all night, but turned off his phone at 8:15 PM. I ASKED MY SURGEON FOR AN APOLOGY - she apologized profusely. I did not go back to her for my one year check up. Instead, I saw my oncologist.

    Chemotherapy

    Drug or Chemo Therapy

The only problem was the Neulasta shots the day after. My daughter, a trauma nurse, administered my shots to me.

    External radiation

    Radiation

I loved my radiation team & my radiation doctor. My doc took a lot of time explaining what was going to happen. The only surprise was the tattooing outlying the radiated area.
