    Pre-op consultation and lab work

    Other Care

Had a one hour consultation with the RN who explained how to prepare for surgery and what would happen the day of surgery. She answered all the questions I had. Later I will speak to the anesthesiologist about that part. Surgery is not for 3 more weeks, ugh, did not want to wait that long. She stressed that I should get in the best physical shape that I can as that will help my recovery. I'm walking 30 min. or more every day, so I think that will keep me in shape. I have already lost some weight from stress and will probably lose more since it's 3 more weeks. DH is giving me great pep talks and I have asked for a Stephen minister from my church. I had blood drawn for 3 tests, chest xray and EKG. All that took 2 hours. Then I go back this afternoon for transvaginal ultrasound.

    pap smear test

    Procedure or Surgery

Pap came back with some atypical cells but not specifically cancer, so that still looks good for no radiation or chemo after the surgery.

    transvaginal ultrasound

    Procedure or Surgery

Had a transvaginal ultrasound this afternoon. First thing is the abdominal ultrasound with full bladder. After emptying bladder the wand thing is inserted in the vagina. In my case this was mostly uncomfortable, not painful, just a couple of twinges and burning sensation. Had some cramping afterwards and stretched feeling.

    Went as Expected: Neutral/NA
    Minimal Recovery: Agree
    Minimal Side Effects: Agree
Minimal Impact to Daily Life: Strongly Agree
