    Decision Point

iwas diagnosed with stage 2 bladder cancer and the surgeon referred me to an oncologist. the surgeon also gave me options of radiation (and if does not work surgery is not an option), chemo or removing the bladder. the oncologist suggests 3 cycles of chem before surgery. (gemstar and cisplatin) i do not know which path to take. i am leaning towards t he chemo for a better survival rate. in either case (chemo before or chempo after surgery) i will have to have the bladder removed.

    not eligible forsurgery

    Decision Point

during my first rounds of chemo, I had a minor heart attack and had to stop chemo. my surgeon then told me that he would not want to remove the bladder as the risk far outweighs the benefits and recommended radiation and chemo (taxel) I just finished 8 weeks of radiation andchemo and am waiting for an appt. with my surgeon.so my decision was made for me
