    Lumpectomy

    Procedure or Surgery

I had a lumpectomy on 4/6/11 with lympectomy of 23 nodes. My surgeon did not prepare me for the drain, nor did he tell me that I would have numbness in my arm from my elbow to my shoulder with burning pain, that does not go away.

    Decision Point

My decision point to take chemo was when my oncotype score came back a 37 it was a no brainer

    Chemotherapy

    Drug or Chemo Therapy

I had four treatments of Adriamycin and cytoxan every 3 weeks. They made me flu like for 8 to 10 days after each treatment, very fatigued. I did manage to work most of the time. I am now taking 12 weekly treatments of Taxol they have been easier to tolerate. Do not have the flu like symptoms, but fatigue is always there and bowels are a riot.
