    Surgery

    Procedure or Surgery

I had surgery on 5/29/12 and cancer wasn't suspected until surgery when they removed the tumor, appendix, cecum and right side of colon. Local pathology could not identify it so it was sent to Stanford University to diagnose. It came back a very rare cancer called Primary Peritoneal Mullerian Carcinoma. I'm being treated with the standard Ovarian cancer treatment with Taxol & Carboplatin every 3 weeks for 6 treatments. I started chemo on 6/26. I was in the hospital from surgery for 6 days, home for 2 and then back in for another 6 days with an infection. I had an allergic reaction to the Taxol yesterday where my face became very flush and warm. They stopped it and gave me more dechedrone and benadryl and then it was fine, however it took to long so I got the Carboplatin today. Face was flush this morning so they gave me more benadryl and it got better. No nausea yet, just the face thing. A little tired but no to bad yet.
