    had NO idea

    Oh No

This has come upon us COMPLETELY out of the blue...as with many people who are diagnosed with Kidney Cancer, my father has horrible back problems...as of 2 days ago, we found out he has a MASSIVE tumor encompassing his kidney, extending out 6" and effecting his upper bowel...

    Decision Point

I don't know that I really have ANY "decision" right now, but it's my inclination and nature to research EVERYTHING when it comes to health as I'm VERY involved in natural health and nutrition, and so I'm getting ready for his diagnosis, and reading anything I can get my hands on so that come Monday, when we know more...I can do whatever I can to help my father...

    Surgery

    Procedure or Surgery

My Dad came out of surgery with a full nephrectomy...tue tumor was twice the kidney size....now the wait from pathology to see what cancer type it is....I have a tiny part of me still hoping that the less tuen 1% chance that it's benign could still be...but I'm not hedging bets at all. Spent last night with my fiancee ordering a massive ammount of supplements for him. I have read all over in journals and clinical studies about the use of certain mushrooms in boosting NK cells, some by 3000%, if anyone is interested in looking into this I have information...and though I dont generally tout names, the website 'vitacost' has supplements for VERY good prices. At this point, I feel like ANYTHING we can do to help Dad, keep him healthy...I'll try it...

    major family support and love

    Other Care

it's been 1 1/2 years, my Dad had a scan in mid winter, and had a node in his lung, it was scary because it was 50/50 that there was a cancer spread. I made sure he was stocked up on his supplements and vitamins, his 2 month scan after was clear! I'm still freaked out, but am so happy.
