    Hair is back

    Celebration

My hair is coming back! Not ready to go without a wig but hopefully by Spring - end of April or May I will. It is coming back almost black with gray. My hair has always been brown. Eyebrows are finally coming back. I am really tired of drawing them on! Eyelashes never really fell out. Again, life is good!

    Breast reconstruction started.

    Other Care

I am three months out of chemo and started with tissue expanders on February 15, 2013. I have a wonderful PS. Tissue expanders placed and stayed overnight in hospital. Pain was worse than mastectomy. I have my expanders completely filled 800cc. I was three weeks out March 8th. I now am in a holding pattern until April 3rd to see if my muscle and skin have stretched enough. My biopsy last year was on April 3rd. I have come full circle! God has been good and I am so happy it almost scares me! Life is good!

    Living life to the fullest!

    Other Care

I go in tomorrow for the tissue expanders to be removed and the saline implants to be put in. I will also has some liposuction to remove some of the excess tissue that my surgeon left with the original mastectomy. There will be a third surgery to remove the excess skin and for nipple reconstruction. My journey has now been over a year but that is OK, I am living and talking and enjoying life.
