    Lumpectomy

    Procedure or Surgery

I didn't have clear margins. Tumor was larger than expected. It was hidden behind scar tissue from a biopsy many years ago.

    Surgery

    Procedure or Surgery

Had nipple reconstruction at the same time I had the other side lifted. Had original implant exchanged 4 months later to fix symmetry. New nipple almost went flat and is now higher than the other. Lifted side still sags more than the implant. But for now I'm done except for tattoo!

    Radiation

Worked during treatments 6 hours /day.Extreme fatigue towards end of treatments. Developed all over burn and rashes on back shoulder and chest. Skin healed beautifully. Used Aquaphor mixed with aloe. Couldn't stand aquaphor by itself. Used hydrocortisone for rash.

    Hormone therapy

    Drug or Chemo Therapy

Currently taking Arimidex (generic). No symptoms first several months-from Oct 2011 through mid Feb 2012. Had morning stiffness and periodic joint pain in February and seemed to be better when it warmed up. Late June 2012, I have stiffness and joint pain almost every morning and hip joint seems to be getting worse. I have pain at sometime during the day almost every day now. I don't take anything for it yet. I don't have the energy I use to and my hair seems to be falling out more than normal. I haven't given up on it yet! On the good side, I didn't have hot flashed (I didn't while going through menopause either). I've lost weight (maybe because I also reduced my sugar intake). I had osteopenia before diagnosis and was already on Fosamax. After 7 months on Arimidex, my bone density didn't get worse. In fact my results are better than last year's at the time of diagnosis!

    Easy to Do: Strongly Agree
    Minimal Side Effects: Disagree
Minimal Impact to Daily Life: Disagree
