    Diagnosed

    Oh No

I went to my primary care doctor in Tucson Arizona complaining of a cough that was keeping me up at night. He prescribed an inhaler to use for 2 weeks. The inhaler worked for about a week, then did not help at all. I went back to my doctor and he prescribed a different inhaler. He mentioned if this inhaler did not work, he would like to do a chest x-ray to look for asthma, etc. In the meantime, I got laid off work and had to move from Tucson Arizona back home to Longmont Colorado. My first appointment to my new primary care provider in Longmont resulted in him telling me it was heartburn and to take Prilosec half hour before bed. I then mentioned that my doctor in Tucson had wanted a chest x-ray done. My new doctor decided, well OK, it won't hurt anything. Well within a week, I went from having a chest x-ray, to a CT Scan, to being diagnosed with lung cancer. I just found out today as a matter of fact, and have no idea what lies ahead. I am 35 years old with 3 children, and we are struggling as it is. I have no insurance as I got laid off my job and we have been living in a motel. I am so scared and I wonder what next? Has anyone out there faced this type of issue and how did you pay for your care? Will I be denied care? What do I do?
