    Not happy with doctor

    Decision Point

Felt totally disconnected from my doctor, so decided to get a new one. So many times we just settle on whatever care we receive, but this is way too serious to just settle.

    Double Mastectomy

    Procedure or Surgery

Surgery was 6 hrs. Bilateral mastectomy, TE's and sentinel node biopsy (6 nodes). I'm not one to sugarcoat anything so let me just say...it sucked!!! A LOT of pain, and I'm usually someone who has a strong thresh hold for pain. They told me that most of the pain comes from them lifting up your pectoral muscle to put in expanders. I came home in 1 day tho, with 4 drains. They are really a pain in the XXX too. I had my first post op today (1 week & 1 day) and drains are so close, but not quite ready to come out. I see my PS in 2 days and am praying they come out then. My pathology report came back all negative...YAY!!...so all of this was worth it!! :)
