    Did not chose reconstruction

    Other Care

I am wondering if there are others out there who did not chose reconstruction. I live with "cotton boobs" and I find this just fine. I am glad to be healthy and a survivor. I wonder how others feel who have also chosen this route. My personal preference was I just did not want more surgeries. I just wanted to go on with my life. I had a had time healing after my double mastectomy on my right side. I had a hole that took some time to heal. I wore a "wound vac" for about a month trying to close the hole. I just felt reconstruction was not for me. But that is just me. I also just had a friend who had reconstruction and her chest looks GREAT! (I am jealous...:) It is a personal preference. I guess there really is not a right answer, it is what you feel most comfortable with.

    Remission

    Celebration

Just had a check up and ALL IS GOOD! My doctor who is new to me even said, "wow. you have been through the ringer." Funny...I feel that was so long ago. It's kind of like childbirth...you don't remember the pain because of the wonderful child you have. I don't remember the treatment because I am happy to go on with my life. :)
