    Diagnosed

    Oh No

I have never been sick in my life, had 2 children when I was 20 and 22 yrs old, had my 3rd child at 42 yrs old. I have always been athletic, very positive, and now with a 5 yr old, get diagnosed with a possibly debilitating, if not terminal outlook on my future. So I immediately went into DENIAL. In no way, shape or form was I going to be "sick". It was very hard for my "very supportive" family to help me, when I wouldn't accept the journey I was about to begin.

    Chemotherapy

    Drug or Chemo Therapy

I was very surprised at how well it is going. I had heard horror stories of people going to the ER after chemo, being deathly ill, nauseous, etc... I have felt well, more than sick. I get chemo treatments every other week, and I am nauseated the 3rd and 4th day after treatment, but only threw up one time, and was weak to the point of resting those days, but not like a 24 hr bug- nauseated, I keep a " I am healthy" attitude 24/7 and it helps soooo much! You can agree to be sick or decide to be well, it makes the difference in how you feel. I haven't lost my appetite, ( I have lost my hair) but it will come back. My tongue and lips burn from the chemo, so my only problem eating is that food and drink irritate it, but that too is short term, I don't dwell on ANY of the side effects, it would probably make them more real.
