    Diagnosed

    Oh No

After I had a colonoscopy, I was diagnosed with Non Hogskins Lymphoma. I was given an appointment with an oncolgist Ann Hedderman. She suggested I have an aggrestive chemo because I was stage IV.

    Chemotherapy

    Drug or Chemo Therapy

I had three cycles of chemo at St Vincents Hospital. By the end of first cycle (three weeks) I lost my hair and was ocassionally nausus. Once your chemo is over for each cycle, which I had three cycles, you have to wait until your levels of white blood cells, platelets, and hemoglobin come back up. After that I went home for two weeks. My most difficult time at home was the shortness of breath and the nausea.

    Stem Cell Transplant

    Decision Point

I could not use my own stem cells because my bone marrow has some cancer. I had to find a stem cell doner. My younger sister was found to be a perfect donor.
