    Oh No

My primary Doctor sent me to a Urology Specialists because my PSA had moved up since last year although it was not very high. Had the biopsies taken (ohhh) but didn’t really expect anything because of low PSA and annual physical. Shock! Gleason of 6 and cancer in 3 of the 12 cores. (Now I know what Gleason and cores mean.)

    Decision Point

Reading books, pamphlets, internet and I have decided on Radiation Therapy, (I think) but What Kind? IGRT or Proton?

    External radiation (Proton beam)

I start my 3 day workup at UF Proton Center in Jacksonville Wednesday. Have some apprehension about the closed MRI because I do have a little Claustrophobia, but think I can get through it. They are going to do a bone scan. I think it is to see if the cancer spread outside the prostate. I don’t know how accurate that is or how much they can tell. Anyone know anything about bone scans? Going to implant the markers Thursday and a simulation on Friday. Hope to make the 4 hour drive home before dark Friday.
