    Oh No

My mom called my cell phone when i was in 9th grade in 2009. She told me to be home by 5:30 because we would be having a family meeting. we had never had a family meeting so in a panick i called my brothers and mom had called them too but they did not know what was going on. when we got home my mom and dad were sitting on the couch and i could tell they were upset. They then proceeded to share with us that mom had stage 3 breast cancer and would start treatment as soon as possible. Hearing those words scarred me more than i thought was possible. The only encouter with cancer i could recall was my great uncle who had passed away from a brain tumor a few weeks before this. The news of my mom hit the family hard but for some reason it felt like it hit me harder but i knew with the family and friends i had we could get through it.

    Drug or Chemo Therapy

My mom then went through 2 rounds of 12 chemos. They were the strongest chemo you can get! the doctor called them the red killers. My mom went to chemo on friday afternoon and would return to work on monday morning. She took the chemos like a champ only get sick a few times trough all 24 treatments. She lost her hair on new years eve. She was devastated. Going with her to shave her head was tragic. The chemo made mom very tired and her energy was low. She would say her head felt like it was swimming.
