    Fatigue (tiredness)

    Side Effects

My father has chronic leukemia to begin with and now is battling metastatic bladder cancer that has spread to his lungs. The chemo makes him extremely weak, nauseated and his hair has started to fall out. He is approaching his 5th treatment and after each one he does not bounce back as much as he did as the previous treatment. He is depressed and quiet. My heart is breaking for him.

    Decision Point

Quality vs. quantity. The chemo is prolonging his life but it is making him sicker and sicker. No medi-cal has told him he has to spend 1/2 of his fixed income for insurance coverage so he is now facing financial issues and is struggling to pay bills including rent, utilities, etc.
