Surgery
Procedure or Surgery
My surgeon wanted to be sure to get everything he could, so he took a pretty big section from my lower back. The sentinel node biopsy yielded encouraging results, so I didn't have radiation or chemotherapy. I have had a number of followup checkups and a few other biopsies that have gone well. So far, so good.

Other Care
Checkups with the skin doctor every six months until being five years out - then once a year. So far, so good.
Birthday
Celebration
I'm happy to be alive. I was not sure that I would make it this far. But I'm still here, and this summer I did a little traveling to celebrate many good things. I'm thankful to be alive.
