    Diagnosed

    Oh No

I was actually picking up a new pair of glasses. My husband was going to meet me and we were going to go to dinner. There, in the middle of Sears, he blurted out he had cancer - melanoma. I don't think I even breathed for a few minutes.

    Sentinel lymph node biopsy

    Procedure or Surgery

He had drains under both arms. Plus, when they went to take more of the area around the initial melanoma, they took from the wrong spot. So, he had to go through it again.

    Weight loss

    Side Effects

He lost about 30-40 pounds and now is thin as a rail. He also has had trouble with severe fatigue. He aches all over and definitely has a hard time thinking when he's tired. He occasionally almost gets hyperactive, but that does not last long. He has had major personality changes - almost like the gate that keeps you from doing something stupid is not functioning properly. He cannot perform sexually at the moment, although he says he's "XXX."
