    Sentinel lymph node biopsy

    Procedure or Surgery

My surgeon recommended a full Lymph Node removal; I disagreed and told her that I would have all of my nodes removed if any of the nodes that were taken in the sentinel biopsy had any cancer. Thankfully, I had no node involvement, and I am very glad that I did not have all of my nodes removed initially.

    Breast Reconstruction (Implant)

    Procedure or Surgery

A water balloon implanted in my chest by any other name is still a water balloon. I am still grateful that I chose to do reconstruction, however.

Myofascial Release Massage Therapy to my breast area

    Other Care

I had specific myofascial release massage therapy before and after my mastectomy (recommended by my medical oncologist) and I do believe that I recovered my full range of motion with no physical therapy because I did. I highly recommend this to all prospective mastectomy patients.

    Nerve damage (peripheral neuropathy)

    Side Effects

Nerve damage just begins to touch the number of side effects I had - mouth sores, severe bone pain following the neulasta shots I had, loss of taste, skin changes (chemo tan), severe hair loss, acid reflux.
