    Diagnosed

    Oh No

I was just diagnosed with Inflammatory Breast Cancer on October 11, 2011. Haven't begun treatments yet as I'm still having tests done to ensure I am strong enough to endure. Just had a PET scan yesterday and await results. Scared, nervous, but I feel empowered by the support I have been receiving from friends and family and health care professionals. I am ready to tackle this!

    Implant chemotherapy port

    Procedure or Surgery

I am scheduled to have my chemo port implanted on Tuesday, October 18th. I feel like I am in a fog, but so ready to get this ball rolling! I am going to do great because I've convinced myself that I am!

    Surgery

    Procedure or Surgery

Had my port and catheter inserted surgically on the 18th of Oct. Waiting for stitches to come out and will be starting chemo in about a week or so. Port was an easy surgery with some pain at the area where incisions were made. Some bruising as well. But overall, not bad at all.

Found out cancer hasn't spread anywhere else!!!

    Celebration

Found out that my cancer has not spread anywhere else in my body. Very happy about this! It's just local to my breast and underarm nodes.

    I'm stage IIIB

    Oh No

Not too happy to hear that I'm stage IIIB, but I won't let that inhibit me from BELIEVING that I can heal from this! I have a rare type of cancer; Inflammatory Breast Cancer. I'm told it's the most lethal type and least known. But hey, I am strong and I have amazing support, so I believe in ME!

    Chemotherapy

    Drug or Chemo Therapy

I had my first day of chemo today (Nov. 1, 2011). It went very well, however, I am sure it's because it was the first day! We shall see how I can hold up these next few days. My inner journey begins!!
