    Oh No

I felt a lump but unfortunately waited 7 months to go to the doctor. Despite the delay I was lucky to still be stage I seminoma.

    Procedure or Surgery

The orchiectomy was a pretty simple procedure and I was up at at it a few days later but with some minor residual pains for a few weeks.

    Decision Point

Chemo, Radiation or Surveillance? This was a tough decision as the standard in 2006 was radiation therapy. I elected to go on surveillance and feel that this was the best choice. The Guidelines now prefer surveillance so I think I made the best choice.

    What to do Next?

    Decision Point

As a pharmacist and now a survivor I felt that I needed to do more. I started reaching out to as many other survivors as I could to learn of their experience and later founded the Testicular Cancer Society to try to help other fighters, survivors and caregivers. www.testicularcancersociety.org
