    Problem with doctor

    Oh No

MY REGULAR DOCTOR DISREGARDED MY CONCERN OVER MY SPOT ON MY NECK WHICH HAD BEGUN TO CHANGE IN APPEARANCE. SIX MONTHS LATER, I PUSHED TO SEE A DERMATOLOGIST WHEN THE SPOT KEPT CHANGING.

    Diagnosed

    Oh No

THE DEMATOLOGIST DID A BIOPSY RIGHT AWAY AT THE FIRST VISIST. HE TOLD ME HE WOULD CALL ME WITH THE RESULTS IN 10-14 DAYS. HE CALLED VERY EARLY THE NEXT MORNING WITH THE DIAGNOSIS OF MALIGNANT MELANOMA....HE SAID HE KNEW IT RIGHT AWAY AS SOON AS HE SAW IT. MY REGULAR DOCTOR COULD HAVE KILLED ME IF I HAD CONTINUED TO LISTEN TO HIM. NEEDLESS TO SAY, HE IS NO LONGER MY REGULAR DOCTOR. TRUST YOUR GUT INSTINCT.

    TO HAVE SURGERY

    Decision Point

I knew I had to have surgery....what I didn't know was what else they would find and how much skin they would end up removing from my neck. My surgeon said " Be thankful it wasn't on your nose". I was, because they removed a credit card size area of my skin on my neck for a spot that was 4mm wide. It was termed 'radicall removal'.

Return diagnosis that they got ALL the cancer!!!! d

    Celebration

On December 3rd, 2 weeks after surgery, I recieved the news that they removed all the cancerous skin and I would not need any more treatment. It was the longest two weeks of my life.

    Simple removal surgery

    Procedure or Surgery

Like I said before, there was a large area of skin removed from my neck as they need to make sure they get ALL the cancerous cells. It was a shock to see the 2" cut afterwards but I could have had much more problems if I hadn't caught it soon enough.
