    Radical hysterectomy

    Procedure or Surgery

After surgery I came down with an infection. I was severely swollen all over body it took weeks to recover. I even passed out in the middle of the night after getting up to use the bathroom. I fell and hit my head on my side table to my bed and tore my eyelid almost off. I still have loss of feeling in the area above my right eye. However the surgery saved my life and I have no more female problems, yaaaay!!!!

    Chemotherapy

    Drug or Chemo Therapy

Chemo and radiation was XXX for me. As I was an extremely active single mother who had absolutely no help in daily life. When I became I'll and weak from the treatments I became severely depressed. I was also allergic to pain medicine and the only relief I got was from drinking alcohol. I then became more depressed and just wanted to be done with everything. No one in my family would help take care of my teenage son which altamately cause damage to his and my relationship. He no longer lives with me. It has been a couple years since treatment and I am still struggling with fatigue and memory loss. I am so very grateful to be alive though:)

    Radiation and chemotherapy together

    Finished treatment

    Celebration

Sadly enough I didn't have anyone in my life that supported me. My Mom took me to treatments but it was more of a chore for her than her wantiing to take care of me. My friends on Facebook were probably the best emotional strength I got . My step father was there more to me than my natural family. Going forward I've really changed my life I have a great new career. I have boundries with my family. I have turned vegetarian and I do not drink alcohol ever. Cancer made me realize that I was letting to many negative people in my life and I was not treating myself good enough.

    To turn my life around

    Decision Point

For anyone that has gone through the journey of having cancer you will understand the appreciation you have of life. Not trying to sound cliche but it is so true. Somewhere along the line I lost respect for my life. After almost losing it I was an E to open my eyes and see what needed to be changed. I now life a happy respectful and grateful life. I think hard before I make decisions the effects they will have in the future and with this being said my heart has grown stronger:)
