    Procedure or Surgery

Procedure or Surgery (Surgery): As a veteran with health coverage I had the laporascopic surgery at SF VA hospital, a teaching facility and extremely well equipped. The doctor did a great job during the procedure, but failed to sign for pain meds after and as a result I began failing and I was in recovery for 4 hours! and had BP over 200 and extreme chills and pain until the XXX finally wandered in and did his job. I will not forgive him for being so thoughtless. He knew I was already on pain meds for minor arthritis, but again failed to sign for them and left for the weekend, leaving the nurses to struggle with my pain and torment. Sounds unrealistic, but getting the covering dr. on duty to come to my aid took a day, and after such a massive surgery I was suffering much more than necessary.
