It has been 2 1/2 years since my diagnosis was given. But today I have good news that there has been no evidence of cancer for the past 1 1/2 years yeah!! I get CAT scans every 6 months and so far, so good. My spirit leaped for joy. I know that I have a long way to go to get to 5 years but I'm not giving up and I'm moving forward. I had Gastric Cancer Stage IIIA. I had surgery, radiation and chemo hair fell out, nausea, vomitting and all that horrible stuff. Very close to death but I'm still here. My faith in God, good friends and a good support system helped me get through that journey. Stay focused on being well, do something you've always wanted to do. I wrote a book about my journey. "Life After The Diagnosis" which actually got published. yeah!! It's ironic that on August 11, 2012 I was rear ended and my neck, shoulder and left hand were injured but it could have been my life. I'm so greatful to be alive. Keep living and never give up. Some depression and anxiety will come but you're not in this battle alone. Give back when you can to someone else. A card, a note. We all know that once cancer has become a part of your life, you will never be the same. I'm going back to work soon and I look up everyday to still be here. I guess there's something more I need to do. Be blessed!
