    Diagnosed

    Oh No

I knew it wasn't good when my breast was itchy, red, swollen, & hot. I went to my doctor and right when he seen it he sent me to a cancer doctor. I had a biopsy and it was confirmed that it was Inflammatory Breast Cancer. I have sooo much support from family & friends. I am confident that i will beat it. I am what my screen name is...a fighter.

    Chemotherapy

    Drug or Chemo Therapy

I received Taxol & Carboplatin. They gave me Benadryl & a steroid for the nausea. I receive it every three weeks. I just received my first dose Monday, October 10th, 2011. Only immediate side effect was hot flashes.

    Nerve damage (peripheral neuropathy)

    Side Effects

Day 3 after 1st treatment: I could not walk for a whole day. Unimaginable leg pain & tingling. Loss of strength all over. Had to use a walker. Lasted about 2 days and then slowly subsided.

    CAM (Complementary and Alternative Medicine)

    Other Care

I had an appt on the 5th day after my first treatment for a dose of iron. I told my doctor about the unbearable pain in my legs. I had to use a walker to get around. He said this was not normal. This was the peripheral neuropathy. So he told me to take OTC B12 vitamins. Hopefully this helps...

I had a port put in because of my very small veins. They took the tape and gauze off today and My What A Bruise!
