    Lumpectomy

    Procedure or Surgery

I also had a axillary lymph node dissection during my lumpectomy. This showed that the cancer had traveled to my sentinel lymph node and 28 other lymph nodes were removed.

    Chemotherapy

    Drug or Chemo Therapy

The chemo wasn't as hard as I expected it to be. There was definitely an impact to my daily life, but it was not what I imagined it to be. One thing that I found completely liberating was to make the decision to shave my head. I was sick to my stomach every time I thought about my hair falling out. One day, I just decided to invite a bunch of friends over and shave it. We had some wine and some laughs and it was the best decision I could've made.

    External radiation

    Radiation

The radiation wasn't painful and I didn't experience any bad burns from it. I still, two years later, have a distinct tan line from the radiation. However, it hit me in that it zapped my energy by a LOT. It didn't really start until about half way through. I had six weeks of radiation, five days a week.

    Painless Experience: Strongly Agree
    Minimal Side Effects: Agree
Minimal Impact to Daily Life: Neutral/NA
