    Procedure or Surgery

In 1993 I was diagnosed with end stage renal failure. In 1994 I went on peritoneal dialysis and continued to work at my job as a teacher until my transplant in 1998. After 6 months post transplant I returned to teaching and retired in 2005. in October 2011 I was diagnosed with transitional cell carcinoma in my right natural kidney and ureter. I had a nephroureterectomy and the cancer was diagnosed as high grade stage 2. My transplant kidney suffered some damage from a c diff infection that I contracted while in the hospital, but since that time I have had 2 negative PET scans. I have quarterly follow up cystoscopies and in May 2012 and August 2012 I have had recurrences of cancer in my bladder. These superficial tumors have been removed. This is the point that I am at at this time... continuing cystoscopies every 3 months and PET scans every 6 months. Any feedback and encouragement and ideas are welcome.

    Celebration

My life is a celebration. Everyone's life is a celebration. I manage my body as best I can with knowledge about my conditions and a deep spiritual understanding to support my whole person. I am learning about healing at many levels of existence and awareness. This is not boring, believe me!! I am grateful for a kind and loving husband and children and friends. I continue to teach classes in my home on spiritually based concepts, which I have done for 30 years. My cousin was recently diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer and we support one another. Balance is my key.
