    Implant chemotherapy port

    Procedure or Surgery

At first the tubes in the port felt almost like a straw in my vein. Very uncomfortable. After a couple of weeks, I barely noticed it. It was the cat's meow for treatments though. Worth the initial discomfort.

    Chemotherapy

    Drug or Chemo Therapy

I took a leave of abscence from work not knowing what to expect. After a couple of crappy feeling days of laying on the couch, the rest of the week wasn't too bad. After 3 months of chemo, I noticed I was way weaker. I have never recovered my full strength. Maybe if I lift weights!

    Breast Reconstruction (Implant)

    Procedure or Surgery

OW. Breast reconstruction is not, not fun. I think the expanding of the tissue is worse than the surgery. However, I hated having a proteisis more. Surgeon used a back muscle for reconstruction. It is still wierd for me to feel my "breast" flex when I pull on something or when I use weights to work out. Overall, I am happy with the results. I had an implant on the other side also, to even things out. Implants need to be replaced every 20 years. Not sure I will want them replaced when I', 70 years old or not.
