    Surgery

    Procedure or Surgery

I was fortunate and diagnosed early, I had no identifiable symptoms until I had a seizure while sleeping which woke my husband, I was taken to the ER and the tumor was seen on CT. I had MRI and other diagnostic tests done and was operated on the following day. Surgery went well, the tumor was small and the Dr was hopeful he had gotten it all. I have had some changes in attention, L side strength and increased irritablility. But generally have done amazingly well. I was able to return to full time work after 12 weeks as a nurse.

    Went as Expected: Agree
    Minimal Recovery: Agree
    Minimal Side Effects: Neutral/NA
Minimal Impact to Daily Life: Disagree

    External radiation

    Radiation

Amazing staff from the Drs, nurses and radiation technicians to the office staff. Hairloss was the hardest part of this for me but now that I have been done 6 months, I have most of my hair back as thick as ever except an approximately 1-2 in area over the tumor site that is thinner and slower to return. I had fatigue but generally tolerated radiation well.

    Painless Experience: Agree
    Minimal Side Effects: Agree
Minimal Impact to Daily Life: Disagree

    Chemotherapy

    Drug or Chemo Therapy

Tolerated the low dose temador during radiation without problems. Seem to be having increasing symptoms with each round of chemo, with the fatigue being the worst symptom. I am also having problems with fluid retention and weight gain each round, but have also had my Keppra dose increased following a recent seizure so not sure which medication is causing the problem.

    Easy to Do: Strongly Agree
    Minimal Side Effects: Disagree
Minimal Impact to Daily Life: Disagree

    Cancer is back/Recurred

    Oh No

Off temador for 3 months, began having headaches, decreased concentration, weakness on Left, MRI shows reoccurance, plan is to go back to OR tomorrow. Update very late in coming my second biopsy results were no cancer. I had an area of scarring and necrosis removed larger than my original tumor but Praise God it was not cancer. I had difficulty with use of L side after surgery, especially L hand but am recovering well.
