    Diagnosed

    Oh No

Found a noticable lump on my right breast at age 36. I had had a mamogram at age 24 because I had unexplained lumps on the back of my neck. The mamogram taken at age 24 showed no signs of breast cancer. After seeing a doctor for the lump I found, blood began oozing from my nipple. Things moved quiafter that, with needle biopsy confirming that I had breast cancer. Surgery to remove my right breast was scheduled shortly after.

    Mastectomy

    Procedure or Surgery

Initially I was to have a modified radical mastectomy with tram flap reconstruction at the same time, as my lump was 2.5cm, I had small breasts, and calcifications located throughout the breast. However, when surgery was performed and 4 of the 28 lymph nodes removed were positive, the reconstruction portion was not done.

    Chemotherapy

    Drug or Chemo Therapy

My first round of chemotherapy consisted of Adrimyacin, cytoxan and 5FU. I did not handle it well physically. I had projectile vomitting and could keep nothing down. I bloated up and turned a bluish color. My ex-husband said I looked like the penguin from Batman!

    External radiation

    Radiation

Radiation went fairly smooth. Just very tired.
