    Surgery

    Procedure or Surgery

First surgery went smoothly. My family and I were told that it was benign!! Yay!! One week later, I went in for my follow up exam where I was unceremoniously told that they were wrong and that pathology came back as cancerous and that there was evidence that it had spread beyond the thyroid. Time for another surgery, which I tried to squeeze into finals week. I was up at 5 am taking my Torts final and in a hospital bed by 11 am. The second surgery was longer and harder than the first. My voice was gone for months.

    Internal radiation

    Radiation

Radiation knocked me on my butt for a few weeks. Felt like I had mono. Although I don't really know if it was the radiation or the extreme hypo condition they make you get into before you take the radiation. Either way, it felt pretty miserable.

    Painless Experience: Agree
    Minimal Side Effects: Disagree
Minimal Impact to Daily Life: Neutral/NA
